It’s the most wonderful time of year to visit the Smokies! With attractions decked to the halls and light displays strung up all around town, Pigeon Forge is the palace to be during the Christmas season. But with so much to see and do, how can you make the most of your vacation? Find out our tips for visiting during Smoky Mountain Winterfest!
Use the Pigeon Forge Trolley
Not only is the Pigeon Forge trolley an excellent way to get around town without having to deal with parking and traffic hassles, but it also is a fantastic way to tour the millions of Christmas lights and one-of-a-kind displays set up throughout Pigeon Forge. From the 12 Days of Christmas to light-covered bridges and a fairytale storybook landscape, both the kids and adults will be plunged into the holiday spirit. You can even take the trolley all the way to Gatlinburg to see their Winter Magic holiday light displays! Most of the trolley fares are only $1, but we recommend getting the $3 all-day unlimited ride wristband to get the most bang for your buck.
Take Advantage of Less Crowded Hiking Trails
Late fall and winter can be a great time to hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park! While the weather is getting colder, the scenery is still beautiful, and there are plenty of hiking trails still open for you to explore. In fact, a lot of popular trails, scenic roads, and trailhead parking areas can be a lot less crowded during this time of year, so if you want to drive the Cades Cove Loop or enjoy a peaceful winter hike in the Smoky Mountains, now’s the perfect time!
Save Money With A Park Hopper Pass
Crave Golf Club, Sky Pirates of Mermaid Bay, and Toybox Gold transform into a winter wonderland during the holiday season, making their indoor and outdoor golf courses a completely new experience, not to mention all of the additional activities such as escape rooms, laser mazes, candy shops, and more. You may even get to see Santa or The Grinch while you’re there! The best way to experience them all is by getting the Park Hopper Pass, which provides unlimited access to the 3 Pigeon Forge attractions mentioned above as well as TopJump Trampoline and Extreme Arena!
Get Dinner & A Christmas Show
Why pay for a meal out plus a holiday show when you can combine the two and get an incredible value for your money?! Our Pigeon Forge Christmas show tickets also include an all-you-can-eat buffet-style supper, complete with a special holiday dessert– Paula’s Poppin’ Peppermint Brownies! You’ll definitely want to come hungry! The show itself features the same edge-of-your-seat entertainment and family-friendly comedy of our original Lumberjack Feud but adds in a festive twist– this time of year, the Dawson and McGraw families are battling it out to see who gets to spend Christmas at Santa’s favorite logging camp in the Smokies! Plus, you’ll laugh at new comedy acts and tap your foot to our brand-new holiday song– ‘tis the season to “Yo-H0” after all, and there’s no better place to jack up your holiday spirit than our supper show!
